PAC Executive Roles
- May provide leadership
- Mayl take initiative
- May carry on the council's day-to-day business
- May consult with, take direction from, and represent all parents of the school.
- May work as a team to ensure PAC purposes are achieved.
- May attend all executive, general, and special meetings
- May be familiar with the Constitution and Bylaws, to carry out their duties as described, and to follow the Code of Conduct
- May speak on behalf of the council
- May consult with council members
- May preside at membership and executive meetings
- May ensure that an agenda is prepared
- May appoint committees where authorized by the membership or
executive
- May ensure that the council is represented in school and district
activities
- May ensure that council activities are aimed at achieving the purposes set out in the constitution
- May be a signing officer
- May submit an annual report
- May support the Chair
- May assume the duties of the chair in the chair's absence or upon request
- May assist the chair in the performance of his or her duties
- May accept extra duties as required

May record, file, and post minutes of all meetings

May keep an up-to-date copy of the constitution and bylaws, and make copies available to members upon request
- May prepare and maintain other documentation as requested by the membership or executive
- May receive and process correspondence on behalf of the council
- May ensure safekeeping of all records of the council

- May ensure all funds of the council are properly accounted for
- May disburse funds as authorized by the membership or executive
- May maintain proper financial records and books of account
- May make financial records and books of account available to members upon request
- May have the financial records and books of account ready for inspection or audit annually
- With the assistance of the executive, may draft an annual budget
- May ensure that another signing officer has access to the financial records and books of account in the treasurer's absence
- May prepare a treasurer's report to present at general meetings
- May submit an annual financial statement at the annual general meeting
- May prepare and submit funding applications
- May be a signing officer
- May serve in a capacity to be determined by the council at the time of election, and at other times as the council requires
- May submit an annual report
- May attend all VCPAC meetings and represent, speak and vote on behalf of the PAC
- May dialogue with PAC to find the best ways VCPAC can service them
- May report regularly to the membership and executive on all matters relating to VCPAC
- May lead discussions on issues where VCPAC is requiring feedback
- May give input to VCPAC on behalf of the PAC
- May receive, circulate and post VCPAC newsletters, brochures and announcements
- May receive and act on all other communications from VCPAC
- May encourage parent participation in VCPAC sponsored activities
- May liaise with other parents and VCPAC representatives
